Help me raise money in honour of my Mum, Bev Woollard and the 421,000 Australian’s living with dementia.

On Sunday, 6 April, I'm taking part in Adelaide's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support Australian's impacted by dementia. This is a cause close to my heart and I would love your support. This will be our 5th Memory Walk & Jog. I will be walking 6km with the family.

Our beautiful Mum has been suffering from Alzheimer's dementia since 2019. Ma is a wife, mother, nanna, great-nanna and friend. She is compassionate, caring, strong, wise, funny, brave and the best Mum you could have ever asked for. We have been slowly and painfully watching Ma be taken over by this hideous and unforgiving disease and it is absolutely heartbreaking. Dementia is so much more than "memory loss". Dementia doesn't discriminate; it can affect not only the elderly but the young and all ages in between. It could happen to your Mum or Dad, your husband or wife, your best friend or even your child. And as you watch the person you love so very much fade away before your eyes, you are constantly grieving for them even though they are still alive.

So, in 2025 we are walking again, not only to support and honor our beautiful mum but also to support the many, many people who are suffering with dementia and their families. We continue to walk, to raise funds, show support and raise awareness of this unforgiving disease so that one day there will be treatments to really help those suffering and maybe even one day a CURE.

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's second-leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australian's will have dementia. But we can change this.

All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.
