Help me raise money in honour of Calvary Haydon Aged Care and Retirement Living and the 421,000 Australians living with dementia.

On Sunday, 23 February, I'm taking part in Canberra's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support the 421,000 Australians living with dementia.

Over the last year, I’ve had the unique opportunity to be part of an amazing multidisciplinary team, looking at the role of bespoke healthcare plans in retirement living and aged care, with a focus on memory support. I have loved listening to stories from patients and learning how beautiful and well-lived their lives are; I’ve learnt so much from my allied health colleagues on better ways to communicate with memory support patients and have valued every moment in my role as optometry clinical lead of this project. Now I'm looking to contribute more to this excellent cause!

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's second-leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australians will have dementia. But we can change this.

All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.
