Help me raise money in honour of my Family Members, John and Moira and the 421,000 Australians living with dementia.
On Sunday, 23 February, I'm taking part in Canberra's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support Australians impacted by dementia. This is a cause close to my heart and I would love your support. I am walking to honour the memory of my mother in law who died of dementia in 2023 and my brother in law John who has dementia and is declining rapidly.

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's second-leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australians will have dementia. But we can change this.
All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.

"Thank you Greg for adding John to your Memory Walk … anyone reading this I am my husband’s full time carer, as his loving wife the pain I live through everyday is horrendous… my darling John was once a brilliant mathematician and lover of science and astronomy, John was an Army Officer who graduated from Duntroon, he served in Vietnam and had a distinguished military career serving Australia. My darling man due to his Alzheimers Dementia cannot count, doesn’t his birthday …and so much more - these are simple things you and I take for granted, all this has been erased for John . Watching John’s demise is like watching the end of a big fire burning out to just cinders being left with you…I care for a two year old, except my two year old regresses daily. "Hi Greg, A friend of mine, aged 77, was diagnosed with Alzeimers about 9 months ago. I have lunched with her and a mutual friend about 3-4 times and have noticed some decline but not in her seeming morale. But the mutual friend, who is in touch with her far more frequently, says the decline has been rapid. I was sorry to hear about Maureen's husband John. Michael."
